Recreational Angling
The South West is home to some of the best recreational sea-angling in the UK. For diversity of species, drama of location and quality of fishing it is hard to beat. You have a wonderful range of fishing to choose from, whether it be fishing from makerel from a shingle strand with the family in tow waiting for a barbeque, to deserted sandy beaches with howling winds and challenging tides with the promise of those elusive large bass.
Recreational sea angling deserves to be seen as an important economic activity in its own right, generating considerable income for local businesses and fishing tackle shops. Due to the sizeof this sector it is important that sea anglers take responsibility for their actions and recognise the impact some of their actions can have on a seemingly robust and bountiful environment. Below you find links to codes of conduct that will help explain how best to carry out your chosen sport with the minimum of impact.

Wherever you fish, please take your litter home. It would be great if anglers could even take home additional litter and become part of the solution to marine litter, and not part of the problem.
