Boating and powered craft

The South West is home to some of the most popular, spectacular and varied boating experiences in the UK.  Tranquil estuaries, roaring tidal races, open seas and shallow bays all combine to give some of the best sailing and powerboating experiences to be had.  Whether you enjoy spuddling about in a small dinghy, racing super yachts or hammering around on a jet ski the South West is the place to be.

However you choose to enjoy the sea, please make sure you are familiar with and repsect local byelaws, launch sites and zoned areas.  The disturbance caused by powered craft can be considerable to a variety of wildlife and the places we use as a playground are their homes.  Codes of conduct are found below.

Safety at sea is a major concern.  Many inexperienced and experienced sea-goers get in to trouble each year around our coasts.  Following the simple safety guidelines below may save your life.
